HomeKit Mode
Feature Introduction
Since users cannot perform device upgrades, settings, sub-device additions and other operations in the “Home” app, HomeKit Mode is provided for devices that only connect to the “Home” app, allowing users to control, configure, upgrade and add devices. However, HomeKit Mode does not support automation and scene settings. We recommend logging in and binding devices to “Aqara Home” for more features and better user experience.
Can devices be bound to both “Apple Home” and “Aqara Home” simultaneously?
Yes. When users add HomeKit devices through the “Aqara Home” app on iOS devices, the system will guide users to bind to HomeKit simultaneously during the addition process. After completion, users can manage devices in both “Aqara Home” and “Apple Home” apps. If users add devices through iOS's “Home” app, they need to open the “Aqara Home” app, register and log in, then find the device in “Me” > “HomeKit Info” > “HomeKit Binding” interface and bind it to Aqara Home.
What's the difference between “Aqara Home” and “Apple Home” app?
In the “Apple Home” app, you can perform basic device control and automation configuration, but it doesn't support device upgrades, sub-device additions, and additional settings (such as power failure memory, mode switching). You can get a better device control experience in Aqara Home.
What if device names are different in “Aqara Home” and “Apple Home” app?
You can use the name synchronization feature to sync device names between the two apps.
Feature path: “Me” > “HomeKit Info” > “Name Sync”.
